My mother made a journey to Iceland in 1989 and brought a kit for a Lopapeysa sweater which didn’t please me for a long time. The yoke pattern looked somehow to “eco”, if you know what I mean.

When I flipped through my patternbooks some day I saw Iona and decided to knit the pattern with that Plötulopi yarn I had stored so long. Nearly all yarn was used up, because I modified the pattern.
This sweater is one of my favorite pullovers and I wear it every winter for outdoor projects. It rejects wind, rain and snow.
After some time of wearing it starts to pill but I remove the pilling easily with my husbands haircutter.
The picture was made last year so you can see how good the condition still is.
