At the CCC Hacker Camp I offered a knithacking project and several people took part.
We decided to knit or crochet a tail for the rocket which is the trademark of CCC and has a size of nearly 7m.
And there were other knitted or crocheted projects. I was asked to make a cover for a special cable which was sold on the camp. You can see it in one of the pictures.
Some of us made covers for their Kindles, mobile phones or I-phones.
We also met Mademoiselle Chaos at our project who taught us to work the design of her Data-Squid.
Here some Impressions of the project . The woman who made the pictures was from a French e-magazine which made an interview with us about knithacking. We also had an interview of a Berlin Broadcast station and the CCC film documentation officer.
Some people had really good hacking ideas like hiding the ticket in a knit-cover. The ticket was a PCB formed like a rocket and you could not only personalize it but also play some games with it or broadcast with other visitors. A real hacker device. Up to now I didn’t discover all of its functions. Best is: it has a rechargable battery and you can connect it with your computer and play the games on it.
Anke (not a Ravelry member) decided to cover the cusps of a Jakowlew, a Soviet fighter-bomber. See the pictures on the left side.
Because the camp took part in an aircraft museum, there were many of them.
I also made a scarf for the Lenin monument which is 6,5 m high. It was not easy to find the right length of the scarf and difficult to position. A picture will follow later.
