Notes

After having read the Book of Haps, I immediately was inspired to knit one of the haps.
I gathered some single skeins of my hawker’s tray of leftovers and knitted like obsessed.

I did not use the suggested tubular cast-on from the pattern but worked the way I do so since 30 years.

I also changed the method of casting-off: simple and easy by pulling over one stitch from the first needle over the stitch of the second needle and vice versa.
No sewing except loose ends.

As you might see, I changed the direction of the tucks, which lay perfektly around the neck and cannot collapse to the oder side.

I highly recommend reading the book which is both: inspirational for knitting and increasing knowledge. I now know the difference between “shawl” and “hap” which I learned seems to be a basic habiliment.

In the pictures you may see the hap in two sizes, one size before washing, the other after washing. Guess, which is which.
If you prefere a certain length a swatch would be appropriate.

Like every knitter I have other single skeins in my stash and will definitely knit another hap.
Thanks to the designer for this fun-giving knitwork!
