My parents brought this yarn from Zimbabwe where my Uncle and my African Aunt used to live. My Aunt not only owns a hospital for poor people in the jungle but also helped in a craft cooperative where women made clothes and crochet works.
So I often got wonderful cloth an masses of cotton yarn.

I saw a similar pattern in a magazine then and worked it from pictures. The pattern reminded me on Egyptian yokes.
I liked this sweater very much and would like to make a copy.
Unfortunately I gained so much weight some years later that the sweater didn’t fit any more.
