The beautiful color of the yarn asked for a summerlike project. Slinky ribs seem the perfect pattern for the yarn which is made from cotton blended viscose rayon.
I also wanted to check how the set-in-sleeves were worked and it was really a piece of cake. The sleeves also surprised me with perfect fitting.
The front neckline of my tunic is not so deep as suggested in the pattern and I worked the sleeves a little longer. I also changed the border.
The tunic was a pleasure to knit and it’s very flattering to my Rubens body. The only drawback is how the yarn comes out in plain stockinette: The tunic has a kind of a twist to the right. But this is not very derogating while the construction has no side seams.
I chose some buttons with glittering tourquoise smithereens which look pretty nice.
The second picture shows the tunic before washing
I would make some changes in the pattern if I knitted the tunic again:
First, the neckline of the back should be deeper. Now the tunic is longer at the backside than at the front.
This pattern would be perfect for working it on the knitting machine, this would avoid al lot of boring stockinette.
