When I checked my yarn stock I came across this blend of wool and plant fiber. I had bought it two and a half years ago and had totally forgotten being it in my stash.
After so many machine kniting projects I had wishes for a mindless short-row project and -tadaa - the inspiration came from this poncho .

I started with a swatch but the tension didn’t match at all. no problem: I’ll make increases until the size will be right.

Technique: classical freeeform swing-knitting:
Swing melody: 2-2-3-3-3-4-4 for the first stanzas. Melody width 27 sts for the first 6 stanzas
From 7th stanza; melody 2-2-3-3-3-4-4-4, melody width 35 sts
From 13th stanza; melody 2-2-3-3-3-4-4-4-4, melody width 40 sts

Very clever idea of the designer but the pattern has too many pages. I looked at the very helpful sketches and the rest will come from my brain.
