Original pattern can bei found in Australian Women’s Weekly, November 1933.

Originally I knitted the swatch for fun because the picture of the original is so blurry. I just wanted to see how it looks. But now I’m in love with it and will make the sweater.

To figure out the measures/pattern of the sweater was a nice little piece of detective work ;-)

The handdrawings show the original measurements.

I have decided to taper the sweater at the waistline and have altered the measurements accordingly.

Front and Back are finished. Neckline turned out a little bit lower than expected.
Yarn may run a bit low. I have divided remaining yarn in 2 parts and will knit sleeves top down. I could make the bow and the lower part of the sleeve of contrast yarn in case it won’t be enough.

First sleeve finished as planned, yarn was exactly enough: about 10 meters remaining - spot on!

It’s finished. I ran out of yarn for the sleeve bands, I only had enough for 2 bows, so I just made a row of single crochets around the sleeves and sewed on the bows instead of a complete band around the sleeve hem.
