I fell deeply in love with this sweater (see brown /orage photo) when we were visiting Gudrun Bjarnadottir to learn about natural dyeing at Borgarfjörður in September 2016and bought yarn to make one for me (grey and green of course).

Mary Jane’s Stopover pattern was the perfect recipe for this…. I worked it as written for the size small through page 3. I did though work short rows to lower the yoke at the front after joining the sleeves to the body. I’m a little sensitive to lopi’s “itchy” factor and needed it to hit a bit lower.

After the second yoke decrease rnd instead of working the color work chart I did the following without changing needle size:
Cut Lettlopi leaving 6 inch tail.
Attach Einband.
Knit 2 rnds.
Knit one rnd wrapping yarn three times around ndl (to create elongated st.)
Knit one rnd dropping extra wraps
Knit one rnd.
Knit 3rd decrease round as written in colorwork chart.
Knit one rnd.
Knit one rnd wrapping yarn three times around ndl (to create elongated st.)
Knit one rnd dropping extra wraps
Knit one rnd.
Cut Einband leaving 6 inch tail.
Attach Lettlopi, knit one rnd.
Knit last decrease rnd from colorwork chart.
Knit 2 rnds.
Worked last dec rnd (just a knit round for the small).
Worked neckline ribbing.
Bound off with sewn bind off.
