I pinned this bag on Pinterest months ago, then last week, I pinned ScottyP’s version (colorway) http://www.ravelry.com/projects/ScottyP/granny-ripple-tot... and decided to use it for inspiration. The colors I ended up using were already in my stash and 100% cotton, which is what I prefer for crocheting handbags. Acrylic tends to pill over time, and wool is too pricey for me, especially if I’m tossing it all over.

Anyhow, I think it’s gorgeous and I will line it when I’m done. I have an old yellow tee that will recycle nicely.

Details: I made a base of 10 rounds and worked 20 for the sides. It’s too big to carry as an everyday handbag, so I may make another a bit smaller. This one is quite large, perfect for a project bag (especially if you’re making an afghan) or an overnight bag. I still intend to line it to increase its usefulness.
