Decided to knit this DK so that it would be extra thick/warm for my kid. Plus, colourwork is HELLA easier when double knitting.

Only used the pattern for the chart and sort of winged the rest of it. Not sure that was such a great idea. I started doing decreased about half way up the hat and damn, bad idea. Mushroom city! I’ve dropped down and undone some of my decreases, which has tighened up the knit and made it look a lot better, but still pretty mushroomy. Luckily when my kid puts it on the misshapen nature of the hat isn’t noticeable.

Finished the hat. Looks okay but was too short. Had to pick up the bottom stitches and add some length. Looks good and fits well now. Phew! Glad to have this done..
