OK, casting on as winter’s getting closer. I suppose this might be a long-term project but I really hope it won’t.
I’ll try to make it as seamless as possible:
- knit in the round from bottom to top
- short rows and 3-needle BO for shoulders
- top-down sleeves with sleeve caps shaped w/ short rows.
Hope it works.
The instructions are TERRIBLE - they sound like some verbal diarrhea. I don’t know if it’s the fault of crappy Polish translation or what. But I’m not giving up :-)
What I did:
- CO 232sts - joined for working in the round
- rib: k6, p2 (20 rnds)
- inc 4 sts with m1 after rib - 2 sts on both sides
- inc 8 sts at the beg of front cable pattern to get: p6, C14F, p6
- C14F: 6 sts to front cn, 2 sts to back cn, k6, p2 from back cn, k6 from front cn
- split at armholes and worked front and back separately
- dec 11 sts to shape each armhole -> 104 sts (for front and back)
- dec to 26 sts for each shoulder
- short rows for shaping shoulders (3 times)
- 3-needle BO for shoulders
- collar joined in the middle of the neck and grafted to the back (still need to master my skills in this matter :-/)
- sleeve caps shaped using short rows
- CO 90 sts for sleeves (80sts around, 10 sts for underarm) still thinking 86 sts might have been better
- working in the round, 2 at the same time with magic loop
- cable pattern: p2, C14F, p2
- dec 2 sts in every 10th rnd -> 68 sts
- dec evenly 4 sts more to get 64 sts
- rib: k6, p2
