Notes

June 3, 2015. 12 skeins of yarn. Will have some leftovers.
Purchased yarn at The Cloth Castle today. This yarn has long color changes like the Noro of the original pattern.
Following the exact knitting pattern as written, without the wraps for the short rows. Tried several wrap methods but I did not like the look of them, so now I have some small obvious holes where the short rows end. Because of the yarn, I am doing just plain TSS as the knit row, and the return pass as the purl row. All short rowing is done on the return pass.
Width is 16 inches, and 6 sections are 10 inches. Plan to make this at least 72 inches or longer, probably 80, so 42 plus sections per strip.
At 43 sections it is 75 inches, so I will stop here. Nearly out of the 200 gram purple yarn. Finished this strip in less than three days of crocheting. Weight is 431 grams
Section 2 completed June 10. Section 3 completed June 16. Section 4 completed June 21.
Yarn ends woven in April 2016.
November 2016. This needs to be joined and finished for February.
December 2016. Starting the joining of the 4 sections. Housewarming will be sometime between Feb/April of 2017.
Inner long edge: work 1 foundation row, then one TRS row on each long edge. Join the two edges though the open top of each TRS row, finishing both at the same time. Experimented with several ways to hold these for joining: right sides together, work through closest bar to you, so into the “backside bar of the nearest piece and the frontside bar of the second piece, join with a sc. This option helps the piece lay flat, not fold, not hinge. The slight ridge in the back matches the side edges. Outer edge finished with one row hdc from the backside, next row hdc worked into the top and back threads.
Final weight is1990 grams.
Delivered August 29, 2017 to new condo.
October 2019: took 3 photos of blanket 2 years old, still looks great. Short row holes have enlarged as the blanket stretched out.
