I had the joy and privilege to test this pattern before it was released some years ago - and I’ve loved it ever since! These mice are the cutest!

For this year’s teachers gifts, I have made a mouse to go inside a mouse-sized gingerbread house - have added a pic of their houses.

Eyes
I used 6mm ‘Plastic Pearl’ black beads for the eyes stitched in place with black embroidery thread.

Noses
Stitched with the pink embroidery thread.

Hats
I used the ‘shorter hat’ for all of the mice - in the burgundy/dark red.

There’s a 10ch ‘gap’ in the hat to accommodate the mouses’ ears….I worked 5ch - skip 5ch, 1sc in next st, 5ch - skip 5ch, sc to end of round…this gives you two smaller ear holes instead of one big one.

To finish off the hat, I worked a row of sc in white around the end round, then a round of reverse sc.
Pom pom in white.

Scarves
I worked the 1 sc row, then 16hdc rows, worked a button hole in the next row (1 hdc, 1 ch, 2hdc together), then carried on with a further 5 rows of hdc.
Sew a little button at the 5th row of hdc.

IF you don’t wish to have a removable scarf, disregard the ‘buttonhole’ and simply sew the button through both layers of the scarf….ensure to sew button on while the scarf is in position on your mouse as it quite possibly won’t fit over it’s head if you sew the button on first!
