Had a request for another Christmas mouse for a ‘Secret Santa’ gift.….this one comes with a change of hat and scarf so that it doesn’t need to be a Christmas mouse all year round!

Christmas Hat

I chose the ’longer hat’ for this mouse, made with red yarn.
There’s a 10ch ‘gap’ in the hat to accommodate the mouses’ ears….I worked 5ch - skip 5ch, 1sc in next st, 5ch - skip 5ch, sc to end of round…this gives you two smaller ear holes instead of one big one.
To finish off the hat, I worked a round of reverse sc in a fluffy white yarn.
Pom pom in fluffy white yarn too.

Beret/Hat
I ‘winged-it’ with the beret at about 2am……but from memory;
I used a 3.5mm hook and the pinks/purples variegated yarn and made 8hdc in a magic ring - join with a slt, an ch1 at the end of each round.
I think I worked a round of (inc), a round of (1sc, inc) and possibly out to (2sc, inc) - til the circle was big enough, then a round of just 1sc in ea st around, then finished off the ear holes as per the Christmas hat.

Both Scarves
Red for the Christmas scarf and the variegated pinks/purples for the other scarf;

I worked the 1 sc row, then 16hdc rows, worked a button hole in the next row (1 hdc, 1 ch, 2hdc together), then carried on with a further 5 rows of hdc.
Sew a little button at the 5th row of hdc.

IF you don’t wish to have a removable scarf, disregard the ‘buttonhole’ and simply sew the button through both layers of the scarf….ensure to sew button on while the scarf is in position on your mouse as it quite possibly won’t fit over it’s head if you sew the button on first!
