- Ch4, (1dc into chain space, 1ch) 1dc in last ch space, turn. Change to grey,
- Ch3, 1dc in first dc, 1dc ea st to end. From here - I worked random rows of pink, purple and grey (grey rows are all dc, pink & purple rows are (1dc, ch 1 - skip a dc) until the hood is the size that you require. I then finished with a grey dc row and extended the last row using fddc to make the long sides - to about hip length. Front extensions are approx., 90dcs each side. Worked about five rows of ribbing to finish off the front (2 front post hdc, 2 back post hdc). I added tassels to the ends of the side pieces and made a long chain from a purple yarn to lace up the back of the hood - starting at the top and lacing down.
Cat ears;
Inner ear (make 2);
Using 5mm hook and two strands of grey;
Ch16
Row 1: work 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc to end, ch2, turn.
I turned my starting chain over and worked into the back loops - personal preference choice…..not that important - it will work just fine if you work your stitches in the normal way.
Row 2: 2hdc in first st, 1hdc in ea st to last st, 2hdc, ch2, turn.
Row 3: work 3hdctog, 1hdc in ea st to last 3 sts, 3hdctog, ch2, turn.
Row 4: 1hdc in ea st across, ch2, turn.
Row 5: work 2hdctog, 1hdc in ea st to last 2 sts, 2hdctog, ch2, turn.
Row 6: 1hdc in ea st across, ch2, turn.
Row 7: work 2hdctog, 1hdc in ea st to last 2 sts, 2hdctog, ch2, turn.
Row 8: 1hdc in ea st across, ch2, turn.
Row 9: work 2hdctog, 1hdc in next st, 2hdctog, ch2, turn.
Row 10: 1hdc in ea st across, ch2, turn.
Row 11: work 3hdctog, finish off.
Outer Ear (make 2);
Using 5mm hook and one strand of purple;
Work a triangle slightly bigger than your inner ear pieces…..working the ‘fun fur’ - (1dc, 1ch).
Sew the inner pieces into the outer pieces - I added a piece of plastic to keep the shape and ears standing up.
