I made 9 elephants for our trip to the zoo…..will add more pics if/when I get some more!

We ‘yarn bombed’ the Zoo with 9 elephants, 4 turtles, 4 sloths, 2 monkeys, 1 armadillo, 1 giraffe and 1 lion (all crocheted/knitted - with some help from Deborah) for people to find….with a note that said, “It’s MY birthday…but YOU get the present”! The girls had a great time finding places for them to be found!

I crocheted the tusks instead of using felt - using white 8ply acrylic yarn (held double) and a 2.5mm hook;
6ch, sl st to last 2 sts, work 2sc, finish off. Make 2.

I stitched the eyes using DMC Embroidery thread in black.

I also added a tuft of hair to the end of the tail - I secured the starting tail of yarn on the inside of the tail with a few stitches, then poked it to the outside, cut and frayed the end.
