The tea is strong with this one!
I used the basic tea cosy pattern to cover the teapot in dark brown.
A green ball for the head and used the ears from the ‘Crochet Yoda Hat’ pattern from ‘Knot Your Nana’s Crochet’ (link above). Sculpted the face with a few stitches to get the mouth pout and brow line. I found some scrap eyelash yarn for his hair/ear hair.
The body is another ball shape in green. I made a collar for his under-shirt in brown.
Then made a loose-fitting robe with a hood remembering to make holes for the teapot handle and spout.
Head:
Using 5mm hook and yarn held double,
6sc in a magic ring. (6)
Rnd1: 2sc in each stitch around. (12)
Rnd 2: (2sc in next st, 1sc in next st) around. (18)
Rnd 3: (2sc in next st, 1sc in next 2sts) around. (24)
Rnd 4: (2sc in next st, 1sc in next 3sts) around. (30)
Rnd 5: (2sc in next st, 1sc in next 4sts) around. (36)
Rnds 6-12: 1sc in each sc around. (36)
Rnd 13: (sc2tog, 1sc in next 4sts) around. (30)
Rnd 14: (sc2tog, 1sc in next 3sts) around. (24)
Rnd 15: (sc2tog, 1sc in next 2sts) around. (18)
Rnd 16: (sc2tog, 1sc in next st) around. (12)
Stuff
Rnd 17: sc2tog around, finish off.
Nose:
4sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: 2sc in ea st around. (8)
Rnd 2: sc2tog around, finish off, lightly stuff and sew to face.
Eyes:
Using 30mm hook and black yarn, 8sc in a magic ring, change to white and work 2sc in ea st around, finish off.
Bottom eyelids are a green chain made to fit.
Sleeves (Make 2);
6sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 2: (1sc, 2sc in next st) around,
Rnd 3: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 4: (1sc in next 2sts, 2sc in next) around.
Rnds 5 & 6: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 7: (1sc in next 3sts, 2sc in next) around.
Rnd 8: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 9: 2sc in first st, 1sc in remaining sts.
Repeat Rnds 8 & 9 until the sleeves are the length that you want them to be.
Arms (Make 2):
6sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: 2sc in ea st around.
Rnd 2: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 3: 2sctog around.
Stuff hand.
Rnd 4: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 5: (2sc in next st, 1sc in next st) around.
Rnd 6: 1sc in ea st around.
Repeat Rnd 6 until the arms are the length that you want them to be.
Yoda looked like he needed to be holding something….so I made him a lightsaber. It has a wooden dowel core with a thin cardboard tube to make the wider part for the hilt. I Googled images of ‘Yoda’s Lightsaber’ and used the pics as a guide. The hilt is silver/grey and black and the light section is green.
