Starting with white - 2 strands held together and 5.5mm hook,

Chain 10, SC in 2nd chain from hook, SC in next 7, make 5 SC in the last chain
Now working on opposite side, SC 8, join, ch 2.
Round 2: HDC, 2 HDC, HDC in next 6, 2 HDC in next 2, HDC in next 2, 2 HDC in next 2, HDC in next 6, 2 HDC, HDC in last, join, ch 1.
Round 3: SC 10, 2 SC in next 2, 2 HDC in next 5, 2 SC in next 2, SC in next 10, join, ch 1.
Round 4: In back loops only, SC around, join, ch 1. (39 SC)
Round 5: In back loops only, SC around to last st, 2sc in last st, join, ch 1. (40 SC)
Change to 2 strands of medium blue;
Round 6: SC around making deep single crochets (40 SC)
Round 7: Now working in both loops, SC around. (40 SC)
Round 8: SC 12, (SC decrease, SC in next 2) 4 times, SC 12.
Round 9: SC 14, SC decrease, SC, SC decrease, SC, SC decrease, SC 14.
Round 10: SC 10, 6 SC decreases, SC 11.
Round 11: SC 10, SC decrease x 3, SC11.
Round 12: SC 10, SC decrease x 2, SC 10.
Round 13: SC 6, SC 3 together, 1 SC, SC 3 together, SC 9.
Round 14: SC 4, SC decrease, 3 SC, SC decrease, SC 7.
Rounds 15-16: SC around.
Change to first sock colour,
Round 17: Work in back loops only, SC around in new color, join, ch 2. (15 SC)
Round 18-??:Working in both loops, SC around (15 SC)
I worked 2 rounds each of the rainbow colours to make the sock (I did red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink), then changed to the skin colour and worked until leg is as long as I needed it to be.

Arms;

I started with 8sc for 4 rounds, then increased to 10sc, continuing in rounds until the arms are as long as they need to be. Not bothering with making proper hands as the doll will be holding cheerleading-style pompoms. I will also add elbows by stitching through the arms at about the half-way point. I will be attaching wire to the arms so that I can wave the arms.
