Rnd 25 of the body I worked in the back loops only (where the body changes to skin colour)….then used the tail colour to work a round of reverse around the remaining stitch loops.

I made a hair cap, then worked around it adding curls as I went - slip st over to the next and start the chain for the next curl (this saves the pain of having to stitch every curl into place!).
I stitched in a few separate curls in colours to match the stripes of the Granny Stripes blanket.

To achieve the ‘messy curls’ look, I chained away from the head then working in sc worked 3sc in each of the first 3 or 4sts, then worked back up towards the head alternating between groups of 1sc, 2sc or 3sc in each chain.
3sc per chain will give you the tightest curls, 2sc per chain for a slightly looser curl and 1sc per chain for straight hair.
