Notes

This sweater caught my eye because it is a quick knit and it has more space for growth than other baby garments. I made it before my nephew was born without knowing how big he would be.

I got the buttons from a place in midtown Manhattan--I’m forgetting where now--but they are made out of old bits of plastic pressed together. I also made two coordinating hats that were modified versions of the umbilical cord hat from the original stitch n’ bitch book.

Although it was supposed to be for winter, Minnesota has been cold enough in October this year for him to wear it now!

UPDATE: I spoke with my sister recently and she said that this is an ideal sweater for naptime because she can lay Simon in his crib and only have to cover his legs with a blanket because the cardigan is warm enough to keep him cozy while he sleeps. I think this is a must-make sweater for anyone with an infant!
