I really like this pattern. My mom renewed my yarnbox for me for a few months as part of my Christmas gift and she told me that I had to make stuff for myself. I thought this project would lend itself well to the gradient yarn that came in January’s yarnbox and I was right! I am really pleased with how this turned out. I see myself wearing this regularly. I was able to use one of my favorite blocking methods and practice the picot cast off. I didn’t quite have enough yarn for the project as written so I stopped after 16 iterations of the pattern repeats instead of 18 and it still turned out very well. I had about 4 inches of yarn to spare, so it was a close call!

I have been on a bit of a Taiga Hilliard design kick and I have no regrets. Her patterns are very intelligently written and I have yet to find a problem in a pattern, confusing language, or anything less than clear instructions.

As for my photos, it was a bright, sunny day after a fresh snowfall so squinting was part of the game. Sorry I have a stink face or have my eyes closed for most of them. Hopefully you’re just looking at the shawl.
