Cast on 42 stitches, joining the first and last stitch.
(11 st needle 1, 12 st needle 2, 18 st needle 3)
Repeating pattern over glove:
Rows 1-3: (k1, p2,k2 twice, p2, k1, P2, ks twice, p2,) rep to end.
Row 4: (k1,p2, 6-stKC, p2, k1, p2, k2 twice, p2, k1; p2, k2 to end
Rows 5-7: k1, p2,k2 twice, p2, k1, P2, ks twice, p2, k1’ p2, k2 to end
Row 8: (k1, p2, k2 twice, p2, k1, p2, 6-st KC, p2. k1; p2, k2 to end
Repeat the pattern above 3 times.
Next section will start thumb gusset.
For left glove:
Move the last stitch of the last row of the repeat over to the first needle before finishing row. This will count for the first stitch in the next round.
Row 1: p2 into first stitch, finish row in pattern.
Row 2: P2 into first stitch, finish row in pattern.
Row 3: continue in pattern
Row 4: P2 into first stitch, p1, p2 into stitch, continue in pattern.
Increase stitch on each side of gusset every other row until gusset is 11 stitches.
Maintain in pattern through next row with cable sts.
Next row, place 11 gusset st. on yarn and add 1 st to continue row.
Continue in pattern for another 10 rows, bind off (should be row before next cable st row).
Pick up gusset st over 3 needles. Pick up 4 st over back of stitch area.
purl across all stitches for a total of 7 rows, bind off on 8th row.
Right glove:
Mirror left glove by starting cable on second section. Pull the first purl stitch from the third needle to the end of the second to start gusset.
