Cast on 33 stitches

All RS rows: knit in back of stitch
All WS rows: purl in back of stitch

RS row: k2, (p1, k1) 3 times, p2, (k1, p1) 6 times, k1, p2, (k1, p1) 3 times, k2

WS row: p2, (k1, p1) 3 times, k2, (p1, k1) 6 times, p1, k2, (p1, k1) 3 times, p2

On the 6th row (RS), place first 6 stitches after the first p2 on cable needle. Continue in pattern for 8 st, then place 6 st on and complete for cable.

Complete a cable row every 12 rows (RS row).

Continue until piece reaches between 20 & 21 inches, and bind off on 6th row.

Block to make piece lie flat, then sew together ends to finish headband.
