Right Hand glove:

Cast on 49 st. Join first and last st for a total of 48 st.
On three needles: 15 st, 16 st, 17 st.

All K stitches should knit in back of stitch.

Reg Row: k1, p1 for first two needles. On third needle, p2, (k1, p1) last st p1.

Cable Row: complete as reg row until third needle, p2, place 6 st on cable in front, (k1, p1) 4 times, place cable sts back on needle, complete row in st.

Rows 1 - 5: reg row
Row 6: cable row

Rows 7-17: same as row 1.
Row 18: cable row.

Next row, start thumb gusset increase.
Row 19: k1, p1, k1, increase in next p stitch, complete as row 1.
Row 20: same as reg row, increased sts p
Row 21: Increase in only 1 of 2 thumb sts to create an odd number. (Be sure to always have a purl st on the outside st of the gusset, but start in pattern as soon as possible on increase st.
Row 22: same as reg row
Odd rows 23 - 29: increase on first and last st of gusset area until there is a total of 11 st on gusset.
Row 30: cable row.

Work in pattern over all st for another 8 rows. (31-38)
Row 39: Place 11 gusset st on waste yarn. Cast on a st and continue in pattern.
Row 40 & 41: continue in pattern
Row 42: cable row

Work in pattern for next 12 rows (43-54).
Row 54 is a cable row.

Rows 55 & 56: work as reg row.

Row 57: bind off

Thumb:

Place 11 st on two needles and begin thumb. Pick up 5 st on back side of thumb. Work in pattern for 7 rows. Bind off on row 8.

Left hand glove:
Same general pattern, but create the thumb gusset 3 stitches in to the right of the cable area.
