Notes

It’s best to use needle a size larger (than what is used on the main part of cloth) on the first and last few rows of garter stitch. I cast on an odd number of sts between 45 and 55 to make about a 12-inch square cloth. The light turquoise cloth is dk yarn and will only be 10” square. The dark purple cloth is unidentified multi-stranded cotton or mostly cotton for sure.

I’m going to use this one project page for all my star-stitch wash cloths. I knit a garter stitch border of 3 ridges on top and bottom and 4 sts on each side. The Yarn Harlot mentioned that she liked this stitch for wash cloths and i agree. After using my first one, the dark purple one, I just love it!
