Heavily inspired by mustaavillaa’s project Onni’s blanket.

But, being the anal retentive that I am, I just had to order and arrange the squares with a half-hidden logic all through the blanket. Can you spot it? Well, it’s not that big a deal, the triangles just form interlocked squares. The trick was to jostle the colours for each piece so that I wouldn’t have two identical squares in any set of four that make up a square or frame. And have all the colours appear balanced all throuh the blanket.

I knitted my squares like this: CO 2, kf&b, k to end of every row until I have 60 sts, then k1, k2tog, k to end of row until there are two stitches left, BO. My squares are 20 cm by 20 cm.

The project name is an oddity of the Finnish language: a scale - scales is vaaka - vaa’at in Finnish.
