Notes

Don’t you think this airy vest would be Lookin’ GrEIGHT as part of a casual or formal warm weather ensemble? The bulky GrEIGHT yarn is a combination of gorgeous colors of undyed 100% suri cria fleece from 8 alpacas at B I Bar Ranch: Midknight Rider, Montrose, Pearl, S’more, Molly Brown, Lightening, Silver Jack and Oberon. A filet mesh stitch described by Vashti’s Maze Vest pattern highlights the GrEIGHT yarn with a fingering creme yarn made from the finest fibers collected over five years from suri alpacas Silver Jack, Oberon, Keystone, Flash and Telluride, also at B I Bar Ranch.

(See the other items from the Lookin’ GrEIGHT collection on my Projects page.)

The drape of this fabric is marvelous!

Instead of steeking, I incorporated the armholes in the appropriate rows. The chains on the backs of the armholes are made with a smaller hook (size L) than the hook used for the rest of the vest (size M).
