Shawl #8 in 2010.

I have a friend- 70-years old man, very nice person, he is a great fan of violin:) He asked me already in spring, if I could knit a shawl for his wife to her 70-years birthday in October… She chose Ulmus, and in this colorway- so, that is it:) The woman is small- 154cm tall, and she asked me to make a middle-sized shawl, so I’m going to knit it again “in between” size- it means, that the stripe section will be finished on 303 st.

I’m going to use Malabrigo Sock the first time- yarn is very soft, and colors are so impressing!

The shawl is ready , but I’m not so happy:
1) with the color contrast- Indecita has too much dark-blue…of course, this is a handpainted yarn and you can never get exactly the same, as on the photo…and colorway itself is beautiful… but this time not as a contrast for abril:(
2) and though Malabrigo Sock is very soft, luxurous etc. and also blocks well, but in the skein of Abril the thread was broken 3 times (no knots, but from the three threads twisted together every time it was 1 or 2 of them broken) and in Indecita- 1 knot… I find , that for the yarn of this price category to have knots is unacceptable.
To connect the broken ends of yarn, I used the “felted join” method
