6/19 - Really overcast and dreary which is the forecast for the next several days. There’s only one spot in the house this huge project can be laid out for a full pic, and it will need to be a sunny day. Here’s a quick pic taken last night hot off the hook until the weather improves. :)

6/18 - Finished! Better/full shot pics tomorrow when there’s some day light!

Closing in on the final rounds and the end is in sight! :)

6/17 - Well that didn’t work out. Knew I’d be short on the Meadow green for the 3rd row of it. So I’m really not sure how I’m going to work out these last few rows. Currently doing Rnd 97 in Aster blue, as I am still hoping to give a good finished look. I’m weighing how much I use for this round so I’ll have a good start to estimate for the remaining rounds…

6/16 - Finished the woven section, decided to go ahead and use the same color for the next few rounds as I did before the woven part. Random has been working, but I want to ensure a finished look, and to consider using what yarn I have remaining that aren’t full skeins. Plus, the initial random pick of meadow was a color that wasn’t used much throughout… Starting Rnd 95. The woven section went really slow for me, mainly because I find long chaining ending with sc’s annoying to do and this is a huge project. I cannot even fathom how big it would be if I used worsted and a larger hook as it called for! :)

6/14 - Just finished up Rnd 90 and the end is in sight. I’d hoped to finish this up this weekend, but unless I can bang out 11 more rounds today, it isn’t happening. :) Haven’t had much crochet time lately.

6/6 - On Part 4, Rnd 82 now. These last rounds have gone quickly with color changes each round. I wonder what color will come out for the next band that comes up, random picks have worked so far, going with the flow.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hadn’t been paying attention to color, but I happened to look down just now and notice that I’ve got 3 colors in a row that I had all in a row previously. Huh. Wonder what the odds of that are… lol
6/5 - Much to my surprise I made it thru those 2 rnds with what I had, but the yarn fairy was watching out for me anyway… I no sooner finished them yesterday and was getting ready to pick the next color when the Mail Man came with my order. :) So no worries now! Currently on Rnd 73… its been quite a few rows of V-stitches, hoping those will be finishing up soon, its time for a CHANGE! lol :)
6/4 - On Rnd 70. I’ve slowed down some. Yarn should be coming very soon now and am currently on the 2nd rnd of a 2 row repeat of the same color… I’m pretty sure I won’t have quite enough but I know back up is coming. Looking at what I’ve done so far, I’m apparently tightening up some - I guess my brain is sending warning signals to the tension finger, lol.
Took some time out to join up the frogged yarns and rewind what is left; which is more than I’d realized. The only issue being having enough of a color to do the changes as indicated in the pattern, so I’m glad I went ahead and ordered more.
6/3 - On Rnd 68. Ran out of a color before the end of a round earlier and had to sub in a close hue from my stash. Also knew I’d begin having issues making color changes as indicated as the project grew. Have ordered back up yarn, but am continuing on for now using what I have. This whole project has been about getting out of my color box, randomness and not fussing over color choice and placement.
6/1 - I finally finished Rnd 61, had to go extremely slow so I didn’t make any further errors. I’m midway through Rnd 62, and finally the stitch pattern ‘took’ and I could do better than a snail’s pace, lol. It was very late though, so off to bed I went. So, coffee and finishing this difficult section up. It really does look nice, so I can’t even be mad at it anymore. :)
5/31 - Sadly I’ve made almost no progress. But I had to rip back 2 rounds of a really long tricky stitch pattern. Totally my error, completely misread something. Planning on re-tackling that section after coffee.
Also, that section is supposed to be done in one color. I’ll have to split it up. The rounds are longer now, and my pretty colors are depleting.
5/29 - Through Rnd 59. Just had a fun granny ripple section that came out rather colorful. This piece has such a playful feel to it.
5/27 - Two more rounds to go to finish up Part 2. I’m happier with it now that some of the colors are coming back in to the galaxy. :)
Finished now with Part 2, starting Part 3. The piece measured 39” across prior to the last two rounds…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hmm. Got a bit of a pastel run going now and not sure how I’m feeling about it, lol. But I’m determined to see this through; like others have found, often when you keep on, it all comes together in the end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have considered that I didn’t look at how many color changes were called for in the pattern, versus distributing the colors at least enough to get through all 17 a few times. …after brief thought I realized that defeats the purpose, this is supposed to be unplanned! :) And there I go trying to plan it! I like the changes as noted by the designer, and I’m just gonna go with the flow.
5/26 - Only on Rnd 39; been busy the last few days and for the next few, so I’m not getting a whole lot of crochet time in until the end of the week. I’ve used 15 of the 17 colors so far. I’ll have to keep on eye on it more now as it grows because it will start taking more and more for each round.
5/25 - Beginning Part 2, Rnd 33. Last few colors are so bright! It will be hard to get good photos of this; I have noticed such differences in the colors in various lights and my monitor. Hopefully I can get a pic of the true colors at some point.
5/24 - Finishing up Rnd 22 this morning. Very easy pattern so far. My last project presented me with color combo confusion and second guessing. This one I am determined to force myself out of my comfort zone… there are 17 colors in my stash, that generally play well together and have been around for a long time… I’m grabbing out of the bin, & I’ll use every color. :)
5/23 - Planning on using Stylecraft Special DK, Lucy Pack, 17 colors. Actually have 1 full skein of each, and some leftovers from my Lucy Ripple. Started a couple things with it over time that didn’t suit, so can/will frog those if needed.
