Shoulder saddles, front yoke, and all or part of sleeves in Slip Check pattern from The Complete Book of Knitting. Back and lower portion of front in stockinette.

I’m getting a gauge of about 4.5 sts = 1” in stockinette, and about 5.6 sts = 1” in slip check, so I’m following the recipe for 5 sts per inch in the Top-Down Sweaters book pattern.

As of 5/26/13 - I’ve knit down from the top to the bottom of the armholes and joined in the round.

7/30/13 - Finished the body… next up, sleeves!

8/18/13 - Completely finished.

Since I will be seeing Dad the weekend before his birthday (Sept.), I’ve decided this will be his birthday present instead.

9/7/13 - Gifted to Dad and he loves it! But Mom and I both agreed it needs to be longer, so I brought it back home to lengthen.

9/13-14/13 - Undid the bindoff and frogged the bottom ribbing. Knit 2” more stockinette, decreased about 6-7% of the stitches and knit ribbing on one size smaller needles (original ribbing was too stretched out). Finished for the second time on 9/14/13.
