Use Targhee in random-width stripes in yoke and maybe on cuffs if there’s enough left. Main body of sweater in Cascade Eco.
My gauge is 3.5 sts = 1”, so I’m following the 4 sts/in instructions, using the size 36 for the front/back yoke and size 40 for sleeves, then adding extra increases on the front near the bottom of the yoke to get the stitch count for size 40 on the fronts. This will approximate a size 40 for back and size 44 for sleeves/fronts - this is how I have modified my last few sweaters to get a good fit over a large bust. I usually also decrease back down below the bust on the fronts to follow the smaller size for the rest of the body.
(this was my estimating/notes - I was pretty close, my estimate came out to 92g handspun, and I actually used 89g)
57g of handspun used in yoke. 48 g remaining.
Approx. 46 sts = 1g of handspun.
Cuffs should use about 9g total. (k 1 row, 3 rows rev st st, BO in purl on RS)
Neckband trim should use about 9-10g (do buttonbands first, start at edge of R buttonband and PU&K, work to left edge of back on prov co sts, short row to right edge of back, short row to 1” from left edge of back, short row to 1” from right edge of back, work to left buttonband, PU&K when prov co sts run out, work 3 rows rev st st, BO in purl on RS)
Edging on the bottom - approx. 16g.
I played yarn chicken with the Eco Wool… and WON! I had to undo my gauge swatch, and also used the bit of the first skein of yarn that still remained, attached, where I started the second skein, to finish the buttonbands. I had less than a yard left - about 33”
