I’ve finished the Folly scarf (a test knit), version A with color changes in the squares.
I love the design of this scarf, it’s a very creative pattern and good to use up scrap yarn. It’s easy to modify the scarf to make it personal. The pattern has very good descriptions and is easy to follow!
Gauge: My squares are a little bit bigger than the pattern says. My squares measure 2 1/4’’ x 2 1/4’’.
The scarf is 117 cm long (measured flat) and 13,5 cm wide. I think it will be longer with the buttons on because they will add a bit more weight to the scarf.
I’ve used 1 skein of Rainbow (Main color) and less than a half skein of Blue (Contrast color).
The pictures are showing the progress on making the scarf (first pictures are below, last pictures above):
-
Picture on top: The scarf is finished, with buttons. It’s perfect, I love it!
-
Three next pictures: Almost finished scarf, without buttons.
-
My crocheted buttons, crocheted around a 4 hole button. It’s a description on my blog how I made them, in Norwegian and English. You can find it here.
-
Finished with joining row and row 1-2.
-
Joining row: I picked up the stitches with a crochet needle. Joining row is a bit fuzzy, but the following rows are easier…

The 13 squares with numbers, ready to join.

All the 13 squares stacked.

The first 6 squares. You can see the gradual transition between colors.
