Notes

Note that my dissatisfaction with the project has nothing to do with the pattern, just with the quality of my work.

Overview of changes: icord changed to stuffed 10-stitch tube, hook on last ring changed for a knit tail as per http://www.ravelry.com/projects/MissCarlotta/knit-colors-... (http://misscarlotta.com/2013/10/02/counter-pillaring-the-...). Removed numbers & beads so they don’t get picked off by a baby.

(Colour and quality changes don’t really need mentioning).

In-progress comments:
Ok, turns out I’m not done. DH has pointed out that replacing the icord with a 10-stitch tube and stuffing it is probably safer, so I’ve torn back & am kludging a pickup, and knitting the tube. (In the round, because I’m not crazy).

Finishing notes: I have not done well with stuffing this, and I’m still not sure that the icord for the body is the right size - it’s difficult to get it right, because it stretches so much, but I don’t want to force a small child to have to stretch it to get it to work.

For safety reasons (and because I think it’s a bit awkward) I would make this with fewer rings if I did it again.

Starting notes: Hopefully the different yarns will all work out to the same size. This is stash busting for me AND a friend. Many yarns were missing the ball bands, so there is a dearth of information available.

IIRC the bright pink was one I found from a dye lot that was off. Skeins from other lots were much more subdued. This is the last of my skein, and I’m going to miss it (but there wasn’t anything else it would have worked for.)
