Notes

A centre-out hap. The yarn is taken from my blue striped sweater, which looked very cool but didn’t fit well at all, so I never actually wore it. I also found some bits of pieces of yarn in my stash, and supplemented with some new skeins of white.

Riggie square:
Cast on 1 sts
YO, k to end of row until there are 61 YO loops on each side.
YO, k1, k3tog, k to end of row until 1 sts remains.

Auld shale border:
With white yarn, pick up YOs. 244 sts. Place a stitch marker in every corner. Switch to dark blue, knit 1 round.
Knit auld shell border from chart (see photos, 12 stitch repeat, inspired by Moder Dy), and increase with YOs in the corners every odd numbered row.

I split up my different blue yarns in two skeins, one larger and one smaller, to get an approximate feel of how far I could knit and still achieve symmetry. I decided to change colors in the corner where the yarn ran out, not necessarily at the start of the round. However, if I wasn’t 100% sure I could complete round 4 with a given color I made sure to make the switch before round 3.

I repeated the chart until I had 140 sts on each side + 1 corner sts.

Wave lace edging
Knit following chart 2 - 10 repeats per side.
