人形用に極小 Owls セーターを編みました。

I knitted an Owls sweater for myself before and knitted another one for a doll of my own creation (38 cm tall).

Considering the doll size, I first tried knitting the sweater with lace-weight yarn, but the yarn was too thin to form the owl pattern. So, I used sock yarn and knitted with a very tight gauge, using 1.5 mm needles.

Major modifications

• Added a zipper in the back. (Please overlook the messy stitches along the zipper in the photo. ^^;)

• Cast on 84 stitches and knitted straight with no increases/decreases up to the armpits.

• Started knitting in the round, and after ribbing and working some rounds in stockinette, changed to flat knitting in order to install a zipper in the back.

It was so hard knitting with this tight gauge, but I’m quite satisfied with the result. In fact, I’m more pleased with this doll sweater than the first one knitted for myself.
