This is the prototype for the motif I will make for the milestone birthday blanket for my mom.

I’ve settled on a hybrid of Afghan #9 and Crown Jewels.

The pattern:
Afghan #9 Rounds 1-10.
Modified Afghan # 9 Round 11 in hdc instead of sc.
Modified Crown Jewels Round 8 with tr clusters instead of dtr clusters and number of repeats increased.
Crown Jewels Round 9.
Finish with modified Afghan # 9 Round 12 with 21 dc on each side.

My plan is to make a bunch of wool grannies and eventually join them into a big ole blanket that I will felt. This is the first square to be part of that magically blankie.

Updated 12/24: I decided to donate this to Afghan Squares for Pine Ridge Reservation since they accept wools and I’m not sure when I would finish this blanket!
