I bought this “craft cord” (budget embroidery floss) at Michaels in March, 2011 when I had a teacher’s discount and I was taking an embroidery class at the Ukranian Museum. It seemed like the perfect thing to use for a painted crochet project.
I’m making a basic granny type hexagon, but I’ve had to make adjustments along the way since I keep running out of the colors as it gets larger :). My sides are not as “squared” as I would like (due to tension changes as I was running out of various colors), but I’m not too stressed - it’s a trivet, after all.
Updated 5/13: Yay, I’m finally finished. Just needs a little blocking and photography.
Updated 5/19: Final pic posted.
