Super excited for this awesome test knit! Been wanting to knit a sweater in this yarn forever. Can’t wait to get started!

I loved knitting this! It’s a fun pattern, even though I find sewing things together tedious. But that’s just me!

I ended up not getting gauge after blocking, but am very pleased with the result. This yarn stretched quite a lot after washing.

Changes I made:

  • The tail is slightly wider, because I accidentally knitted one row too many when starting the tail fins. This made my stitch count wrong at the tail tips, so I had to adjust a little.

  • Knitted the panels 1” shorter in length than what the pattern called for.

  • Knitted shorter sleeves. 11” before I did one purl row and then cast off. Added two rows single crochet with 3.5mm hook, and a scalloped edge.

  • Crochet neckline instead of ribbing. Just two single crochet rows.

  • The mouth looked too high after blocking, so I removed the top row of duplicate stitches. Also gave my narwhal a twinkle in her eyes!

Measurements after blocking, following the letters in the patterns chart:
A 36”, B 17”, C 7.5”, D 13”, E 13”, F 10”
