T. started this shawl for me as I found the instructions confusing. Happily, once you’re past the first few rows, it’s highly addictive! I just can’t stop knitting this shawl.

September 13, 2010: I’m up to 9 dark stripes. I’ll work a few more rows to make the last stripe stand out, then I’ll start decreasing.

December 5, 2010: Picked this up again after a haitus. Notes to self: always K on RS, increase at end of every RS row. For WS rows, p10, k10, and repeat to end. For RS edges, slip first st wyif, move working yarn to back and start row.

July 20, 2012: Ulp! Has it been two years?? Oh boy. Picked this up again.

On the decrease rows…

• RS rows: slip first stitch with yarn in front, K all sets until 2 left, k2tog.
• if MC, on WS rows: p10, k10 across (K last 5 stitches for garter-stitch border).
• if CC, on WS rows: CO 3 sts, BO 3 sts, p10 (including last bound-off st), k 10 across (K last 5 stitches for garter-stitch border).
• BO when 3 sts left.

December 1, 2019: Eek! It’s been almost 9 years since this project was cast on. Working on it now and hope to have it done before year end.

April 4, 2020: 10 years! But finally done, thanks to Covid-19 self-isolation. Turned out to be a rather large shawl.
