Notes

7/2 I am into the first Lily of the Valley chart and am loving the nupps. They are not hard to execute if you do the k and yo loosely and make sure you get the needle through all five on before pulling the purl through.

7/4 Finished LoV Chart 1

7/5 Finished LoV Chart 2

7/6 Finished peaked edging.

Thoughts:

I must knit really loosely. I used a US2 Addi Turbo Lace needle. I was really sweating at the end if I would have enough yarn. I had to eliminate the last knit row before the bind off, and I still wasn’t sure I would have enough to finish the bind off. I did, but I think I would have bound off more loosely if I hadn’t been worried. Consequently, I think my peaked edging isn’t as “peaked” as it should be. I had a hard time getting the points to come out on it like they should. In the end, it is beautiful, but larger than normal, with a more open look than others I have seen. Instead of 23 inches down the center, it is 39, and instead of 48 inches across, it is more like 70.

I think I will knit another soon and see if I can knit a little tighter and get the edging the way it should look. I will have to keep my eye out for the right yarn. Maybe Knitpicks Gloss would be good.
