A lot of knitting and ripping …

Still too wide, but fortunately the fabric is light so it drapes kind of nicely.

Its a lovely robe, wide sleeves and length with a nice stranded pattern.

I decided to do a lightweight version in Rowans felted tweed DK, which differs a lot from the original Aran wool blend.

I recalculated the pattern, but still, almost finished, it was much too wide and long … So I ripped most of it – even the big stranded bit (!) – and had to start again … (I never figure out how to match gauge, no matter how many swatches I make.)

Now, I don’t know what size – or combination of sizes – to continue with …
