Notes

I loved designing this shawl. Inspired by the Guardian of Air from the Gaian Tarot by Joanna Powell Colbert I drew from the colors and feel of the picture to design a shawl I felt she would wear. You can see more of Joanna’s deck here http://www.gaiantarot.com/guardianofair/

The lace pattern was from a handout given in Shirley Paden’s Shaping Lace class. I fell in love with it and felt it would be perfect for this shawl. I also used basic lace stich for the border.

Mohair Splash is simply a dream to work with. I can not get enough of it. The beads and sequens in this shawl remind me of ice and the crisp, cold air of winter. It was perfect for the Guardian of Air’s shawl.
