Inspired by this pretty pattern, I am making up my own version as I go…
3mm needles
Adjusted top lace pattern adding enough stitches to get 2 repeats per shoulder + 3 repeats at the centre.
14-stitch repeat, with 2 ptbl between each
Started with provisional cast-on at top, worked front to end of armhole, then picked up stitches at shoulders and worked back
Joined back and front adding 1 repeat at each side
Continued with same lace pattern for the whole bodice, then transitioned to a 16-stitch razor shell chevron (I did not like much how the original stitch turned out, I prefer this cleaner version with clear but subtle vertical lines)
Adding increases within each repeat every 12 rows to adjust for hips.
After 2 sets of increases, each repeat now has 20 stitches

After 1 more set of increases, each repeat now has 22 stitches
Continued with 3.25mm needles

Opted for side slits, so when I reached just above the knees I started the front panel - for the edge stitches, I turned the last 3 k stitches to kpkpk (with twisted purls)

With 2.5mm hook, dc row around neck and armholes, 3 stiches every 4 rows. At lace points, dc-c-dc in same stitch

It needs either a belt, or a cord to pull it up a bit and knot at waist
(Or some surgery, to convert from dress to top+skirt)

Yardage

I did not keep track of yardage, but after dress and bolero, I am left with 50g of Positano and 35g of Armour, so approx 2200m of each yarn for dress+bolero.
