Light and warm, it’s a pleasure to wear.

(Looking at the photos, I think I should have gone for the S size, but I prefer looser fits and tend to shy away from S sizes… I might move the button out for a bit more overlap and see how it fits)

If I were to knit it again, I might go for a smoother yarn, maybe a merino-silk blend, which might show off the pattern more.
But I love how it turned out, and am sure it will get plenty of wear!

This was actually quite a quick knit, but fitted various other smaller things in between so it stretched over a few months.

The instructions are very clear and after the first front half I was able to memorise the pattern so it was not really necessary to follow the chart any more - especially for the open lace on the sleeves.

Blocking was essential for this, and I softened the Shetland yarn with a wool rinse prior to blocking. It still has very much the Shetland “rustic” feel (which I think goes well with the leafy pattern!), but is comfortable to wear against the skin (wearing it with a short-sleeved t-shirt) and does not feel “scatchy”.
