The colour of this handspun bfl lurking in my stash just seemed perfect for a shawl called Damson! The purples and reds are the colours of damson skins, and the greyer bits are the dusty blush on the skins.

16 Aug - The garter stitch rows are getting long now (63 down, 9 to go) but it’s very easy knitting. The only problem was remembering which side to increase on, but I’ve pinned safety pins to the side I need to do the yarn-overs on, and it’s made life much easier!

17 Aug - 91 rows done now, the lace pattern is looking pretty. And it’s very easy!

18 Aug - finished late last night! The loopy edging took ages, but it’s worth it, it’s very pretty. It’s blocked to about 15” deep, which is just perfect. I used 82g out of 106g, so about 367m.

Overall I’m very pleased with this - the pattern was as well written and clear as Ysolda’s always are, and I like the way it works with the striped handspun. I’m not always a fan of stripy triangular shawls, the stripes can eat the pattern, but this one works perfectly.
