Notes

Probably the cutest elephant in the world, ever.

I used magic loop throughout, it was a bit tricky picking up the stitches for the body and limbs, but I worked out that I could use more than one loop for the first few rounds (photo at the bottom) - it was a bit fiddly moving the cord round every few stitches, but it worked, and after a few rounds I could get the stitches into two sections.

I messed up on the hands, I missed the bit that said ‘knit two rounds’ after the purl row, but I like the way they look with slightly wavy edges, so I left them.

I worked the arms first, then the ears and finally the feet, so that there were less bits in the area I was working in to get in the way of the cord loops. I only used the second ball of yarn for the purl row and foot of the last leg. I’ll get another Elijah out of the other ball if I do different coloured pads.

I love this pattern, it’s so clever, with no seams - I just kept on knitting to see how the next bit worked. The ears are especially clever, with short row shaping and grafting at the end.

The yarn is lovely but a little bit splitty, it’s very soft though.
