Notes

As so often happens at this time of year, I needed a simple stocking stitch project to do whilst watching tennis, this seemed to fit the bill. I’ve had the yarn for ages, it seems right for this pattern.

I’ve swatched for this after reading about the yarn stretching, it came out at 24 sts/4” before blocking, but blocked to 20 sts. The height went from just over 3” to just under 4”, which should do. I might put an extra increase or two in though before splitting for the sleeves.

I’m not 100% sure about the increases, they look a bit messy, but I think I’m too lazy to rip back, even at this early stage.

23 June - I had a week off with this one, but it’s been resurrected for Wimbledon. I’m past the waist now, and still on the second ball of yarn, four balls should do it easily. The rows are long, but it makes making up the increases as I go along easier without having to write down what I did!

April 2011 - this languished armless in a cupboard for a long time, but at last I’ve fished it out and finished it off. Sadly I’ve put on weight since I started it, so it’s a bit tight - although it’s better since I blocked it, it was very small before that! Must diet…
