Notes

This is such a lovely pattern to knit, so well-written with amazing attention to detail in the charts - down to writing in the number of stitches in longish sections. The chart looks scary at first glance, but it’s easy to follow really.

I went up a needle size as I usually do, and the possum yarn has quite a halo, with hindsight I should have done the rib on smaller needles, the brim came out very floppy. So I improvised a solution by picking up stitches round the bottom and knitting about eight rows on 3.75mm needles, then casting of catching the backs of the purl stitches in with the stitches I was casting off, in a similar fashion to a three needle bind off. It’s made a slightly rounded brim, but it feels much better, and should be even cosier come the cold weather.

I’m going to make some of the Snapdragon mitts to match with the rest of the yarn.
