Notes

I completely made this up - I cast on 64 stitches, did about six rows of rib, then did a round of (k1, kfb) to increase to 96 stitches. I knit until it was about 4.5 inches long, then decreased in six sections, every other row for the first five or six decreases, then every row till I had six stitches left.

For the stripes, I spiralled the two colours - I did one row in lilac, then slid half the stitches to the other needle, and did half a round in white, so that both yarns were in the same place. Then I did one row lilac, one row white, so that there’s no jog at all. I think this only works with one row stripes, which is a shame, it’s a very elegant way of doing stripes!

I used less than a ball of each colour.

I love the stripes on the wrong side of this, I almost used it as the right side - they’re just so straight!
