8/22 Got gauge with size 8 needles. Cast on 93, inc 5st for next 4 rows (kfb).

8/23 It’s super exciting when I get to new Noro color. Not picking up the wraps per the advice of many.

8/25 Finished with the yoke. No problems so far (except when my Noro Silk broke right off as I pulled an edge stitch tight). Only needed the second skein for the last few rows, tons leftover. Now starting stockinette stitch with the Cascade.

8/27 Woe be to ye who forgets a garter band and works seven more rows before realizing the error. I tried to drop the stitches individually and crochet them back up correctly, but apparently I’m really bad at that. So rather than risk a sloppy edge I put in a safety line, frogged back, put the work back on my needles and knit onward. Oh well.

9/2 Finished the body--was so exuberant about the buttons (handmade, purchased from Anthony Buchanan’s Etsy shop) that I couldn’t wait and sewed them on at this point. Started sleeves. Plan to decrease for tapered sleeves.

9/4 Started second sleeve. Here are the sleeve mods I did: Knit 25 rows (about 4 inches) then begin decreases: At beginning of round: K1, k2tog. Knit around to last 3 sts, ssk, k1. Repeat every 8th round until 40 sts remain. Knit 47 more rows then begin garter cuff as directed. Had huge holes in the armpit. No biggie; just turned the sweater inside out and whip-stitched the holes shut with the tail from the sleeve.

9/6 DONE! Soaked, wrung, onto the floor and now for the agonizing wait!
